The last municipal election was held on August 26, 2014, with a runoff election for District 5 on October 7, 2014. The Mayor and City Council took office on November 3, 2014, and their terms will end on November 5, 2018.

Voter Records: Make sure that your name and address are correct on the official voting list--there is no automatic system for updating. If you have moved or married since the time you registered to vote and you haven't completed a voter update form, your information is probably not current. It is also possible that you may be on the inactive list. To update your voting information, print and complete the voter update form. Mail completed forms to the Etowah County Board of Registrars, 800 Forrest Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35901. If you are unsure about your voter record, please feel free to call the board office at 256-549-5384.

City of Gadsden elections are non-partisan, and no write-in votes are permitted.
