[ARCHIVED] EYO Rock & Roll Christmas Back and Bigger Than Ever

GADSDEN, AL, December 5, 2017 - - The Etowah Youth Orchestras will rock in the holiday season again this year with the EYO’s Rock & Roll Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 16th.  The 7 PM performance will be held at the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center on the campus of Gadsden State Community College, and is sponsored by The Exchange Bank of Alabama and Greater Gadsden Area Tourism.

The 2017 Rock & Roll Christmas program picks up where last year’s show left off. “We received such a tremendous response to last year’s show, especially the first set, that we knew we had to follow up with this year’s production,” noted EYO Music Director Mike Gagliardo. “To give our audience and the orchestra the most variety possible while creating the same performance experience, this year we are presenting the second TSO Christmas album.”

The first set of the show will be made up of music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s second Christmas album, The Christmas Attic, which includes the popular holiday single Christmas Canon. “We will be performing most of the album on the first set of the show, complete with a narrator/storyteller and a children’s choir,” added Gagliardo. Mark Price returns as the narrator for this year’s show, and the Mitchell Elementary School Honor Choir will be featured as well.

For the second set, Gagliardo advertises an “all-out, no-holds-barred rock and roll show. Right now the second set is slated to include music by Fats Domino, Florence + The Machine, Maroon 5, The Bangles, Evanescence, the Dave Matthews Band, Christina Perri, Portugal. The Man, Tom Petty, and Pink Floyd. And that doesn’t even include what we have up our sleeves for a potential encore!”

Tickets are just $12-17, and are available online at www.wallacehall.org, or in person at the front desk of the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts.

“We’re hoping for a huge audience that night,” added Gagliardo.  “These students have worked extremely hard, and you will not be disappointed. You will be amazed at what they have been able to do in just six weeks since our last concert!”

The Etowah Youth Orchestras is a project of the Gadsden Cultural Arts Foundation.
