Severe Weather Awareness Week
The National Weather Service and the Alabama Emergency Management Agency have declared the week of February 18th – 23rd, Severe Weather Awareness Week in Alabama.

- Wednesday, Feb 21 – Tornadoes (Special 9:00 a.m. NOAA Radio Tornado Safety Drill)
- Thursday, Feb 22 - Lightning
- Friday, Feb 23 - Receiving Weather Alerts

Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
Alabama will hold its seventh annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, beginning Friday, February 23, 2018 at 12:01 a.m. and ending Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 12 midnight, giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain severe weather preparedness items free of state sales tax.
