GPL Literary Author Series: Adam Vines Poetry Reading & Wine Tasting 

When: April 5, 5-6PM 

Where: The Stone Market 

Adam Vines is the author of The Coal Life, According to Discretion, and Out of Speech. He is an assistant professor in the English Department at the University of Alabama, Birmingham where he also serves as the Director of the English Honors Program. His work has appeared in many publications, including Kenyon Review, Southwest Review, and Poetry. He is a 2013 recipient of the Individual Artist Fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and a 2017 recipient of the William Alexander II & Lisa Percy Fellowship at Rivendell Writer’s Colony at Sewanee.

GPL Just A Taste with Fran & Al: Veggies & Sides! 

When: April 3, 5:30PM 

Where: Beautiful Rainbow Café 

In our next installment of Just A Taste, Fran and Al Andrepont will teach participants how to make heart-healthy veggie and side dishes! 

Those who own a copy of Fran and Al's From Our Kitchen: Heart Healthy Recipes cookbook are encouraged to bring it with them and follow along with the demonstration! Don’t own a copy, but are interested in having one of your own? From Our Kitchen: Heart Healthy Recipes will be available for purchase for $21.95, plus tax, with 40% of the proceeds going back to the Beautiful Rainbow Café!

GPL Brunch w/ Books Book Club: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

GPL Computer Classes 

Where: Computer Classroom (2nd Floor) of the Main Library 

Cost: Classes are offered free-of-charge to the community! PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required since space is limited to 12 people per class. Register for classes in person at the Computer Center Desk (2nd floor) or for more information, call 256.549.4699, ext. 2119. A current (free & clear) library card is needed to enroll. If you don’t have a card, you may obtain one at the Circulation Desk, 1st floor of the Main Library. 

Computer Basics for Beginners 

When: April 3 & 4, 9:30AM-12:30PM 

This is a two-day class (3 hours per day) for the absolute beginner or for those who simply need to know more about computers. No computer experience is required.

Want to share your nostalgic stories about what it was like growing up in Gadsden? Were you in the military? Do you have an interesting story to tell? Then join the Gadsden Public Library in our ongoing effort to preserve the oral history of Gadsden and Etowah County. Interviews are now being conducted.
