Gadsden, AL - The City of Gadsden and Mayor Sherman Guyton are finalizing lease terms with Buffalo Wild Wings as part of a plan to have the restaurant build along the riverfront at Coosa Landing. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Atlanta, Buffalo Wild Wings features a variety of boldly-flavored, made-to-order menu items including its namesake Buffalo, New York-style chicken wings. Buffalo Wild Wings is the recipient of hundreds of "Best Wings" and "Best Sports Bar" awards from across the country. There are currently more than 1,250 Buffalo Wild Wings locations in 10 countries.
The Gadsden restaurant would be built at Coosa Landing, on the four acres of city-owned property between The Venue and the Riverwalk. Interest in The Venue, and the City’s comprehensive plan to develop the riverfront, led Buffalo Wild Wings to want to open a new store within this vibrant Riverfront Complex. The City will do infrastructure work to facilitate the project, which will also serve The Venue. This will be a great addition for Gadsden from an entertainment, dining, and economic development perspective.
A new Buffalo Wild Wings would provide a substantial boost to the economy with $4 Million in capital investment, 120 jobs, and a great anchor tenant to complement The Venue at Coosa Landing. Construction of the restaurant could begin as soon as site preparation work concludes.
