GADSDEN, AL, November 9, 2018 - - The Etowah Youth Orchestras’ seventh annual Button Day Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 17th, from 8 AM-2 PM at locations throughout Etowah County. EYO members and parents will be collecting donations and distributing the EYO’s “I ❤EYO” buttons to supporters. The fundraiser raises approximately $4,500 annually for the projects and programs of the EYO. This year the EYO hopes to increase the amount raised to $6,000.
EYO students and parents will be in front of grocery stores throughout the area from 8 AM until 2 PM with the buttons and collection buckets. Participating stores include the Johnson’s Giant Food locations in Gadsden, East Gadsden, and Attalla; the Burton’s Food Mart in Southside; the Winn Dixie in Rainbow City; and the Gregerson’s Cash Saver locations in Gadsden and Hokes Bluff.
Donors are encouraged to drop any amount of money into the collection buckets, and will receive the EYO button in return. This year’s EYO button features a new design, which includes the new EYO logo, font and color scheme. All proceeds benefit the educational programs of the EYO, including the EYO’s General Scholarship Fund. Scholarship awards are applied to program fees, festival registration costs, music camps, and other musical activities, and are awarded in the form of tuition waivers and payment of student activity fees.
