Gadsden’s only Bark Park, a joint project of the City of Gadsden and the Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center, was opened at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. The event was held at the Park, which is situated behind the Gadsden Mall, just inside the entrance to the James D. Martin Wildlife Park. here is no charge for the use of the Park, and citizens are encouraged to bring their dogs during park hours.
The Bark Park is designed to allow the dogs to exercise and play off-leash; and there are different areas set aside for big dogs and small dogs (40 lbs. or less). Each park has water facilities for the dogs and seating for their humans.
