The City of Gadsden Planning & Engineering Department is pleased to announce that Padenreich Avenue is now open as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
The City of Gadsden closed Padenreich Avenue to all thru traffic from East Broad Street to George Wallace Drive in order to replace several existing culverts. The road was closed on Monday, February 8, 2016. All work has been completed, road barriers have been removed and traffic should have full use of Padenreich Avenue immediately.
“The project progressed well, and all of the drainage issues have been fixed. We shouldn’t have to close the road again. Pipes under the road were collapsing and by fixing the road we were able to prevent any dangerous road conditions and keep traffic safe.” said Jeramy Ward, Engineering Superintendent.
