Touch-A-Truck event to be held May 16 at The Venue

Touch-A-Truck

Gadsden, AL – If you’re looking to see and interact with all kinds of vehicles, The Venue at Coosa Landing is hosting a Touch-A-Truck event from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16.

Admission is $5 for children ages 2-17, and the event is free for children under 24 months and adults over 18.

Event organizer Deborah Hawkins said there are quite a few vehicles scheduled to be at the event at The Venue. Some of those include: a fire truck, a police car, a trolley, an ambulance, an excavator, a wrecker, a taxi, a mail truck and even a helicopter.

“Touch-A-Truck will be about as large as the last time we had it, but there will be more activities at this year’s event,” Hawkins said.

A truck filled with video games will be there, along with activities from The Alley, face painting, a rock climbing wall, numerous door prizes from sponsors and more.

The Milo’s Burger Bus will be the exclusive food vendor, and others will be on hand to satisfy your sweet tooth.

The weather for the day is also not as much of a concern as in previous years.

Because The Venue at Coosa Landing’s main hall features more than 15,000 square feet of space, Touch-A-Truck will be primarily an indoor event, though part of the event will still take place in the parking lot.

“We want to thank all our participants, particularly our first responders like the Gadsden Police and Fire departments,” Hawkins said. “We especially want to thank Sheriff Jonathon Horton and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, who have gone above and beyond in bringing vehicles, the rock climbing wall and the ECSO helicopter.”

For more information, please contact Hawkins at 256-549-4730.
