City elections are managed by the city clerk. On August 23, 2022, an election will be held for the offices of mayor and seven council members, as well as seven school board members. The qualifying period for candidates is June 14-28, 2022, and the qualifying fee is $50. If a runoff election is necessary, it will be held on September 20, 2022. The next administration will begin on November 7, 2022.

City of Gadsden elections are non-partisan, and no write-in votes are permitted.
Voter Records: Make sure that your name and address are correct on the official voting list–there is no automatic system for updating. If you have moved or married since the time you registered to vote and you haven’t completed a voter update form, your information is probably not current. It is also possible that you may be on the inactive list. If you wish to verify your voter record, please feel free to contact the Etowah County Board of Registrars office at 256-549-5384.
