[ARCHIVED] Summer Concert Series Details Announced

The Tams.jpg

Gadsden, AL. – The dates and performers for the 7th year of the Summer Concert Series held in conjunction with First Fridays at the Mort Glosser Amphitheatre (The AMP) in downtown Gadsden have been finalized.

The concerts are from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. following First Friday and are free. Cushions and coolers are welcome.

The Series kicks off on Friday, May 6th, featuring the Tams. The Tams have been entertaining and thrilling audiences for over 50 years. Known for such hits as “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”, “What Kind of Fool”, “I’ve Been Hurt” and “Untie Me”, The Tams have had 2 Gold Records, and 1 Platinum Single. “What Kind of Fool” hit #9 on the Billboard charts, and #6 on the R&B charts. “Hey Girl Don’t Bother Me” hit #1 in the UK in 1971.

Appearing at the second concert on June 3rd will be the WannaBeatles. The WannaBeatles offer a fun-filled, family-friendly extravaganza that goes "where no Beatles Band has gone before." Of course, you'll hear your Beatles favorites, but there's much more! Their hilarious parodies, on stage antics, and audience involvement combined with ground breaking visual effects make The WannaBeatles show a "must see."

Returning on July 1st is one of the Concert Series favorite acts-7 Bridges. This Tennessee-based Eagles tribute band played to a sold out crowd several years ago. 7 Bridges faithfully re-creates the experience of an Eagles concert from the band’s most prolific period. Every show features one brilliant hit single after another with some mighty Don Henley and Joe Walsh surprises sprinkled into the mix. 7 Bridges offers the perfect blend of songs to capture all levels of Eagles devotees.

Rounding out the 2016 series will be Jim Quick and Coastline on August 5th. This Carolina-based band is a high-energy, slick-sounding, collection of blues, soul, and beach music. Their blend of musical styles and the raucous antics of front-man Jim Quick will keep the crowd dancing throughout the show.

The Summer Concert Series is presented by the City of Gadsden, Gadsden Parks and Recreation, Greater Gadsden Area Tourism and Jack’s Restaurants.
