[ARCHIVED] Warming centers, overnight shelter open in Gadsden

12-19-2022 City Warming Centers

With the arrival of cold temperatures and low wind chills, the City of Gadsden has activated area warming stations and an overnight shelter.  These locations will be opened until Friday, December 23, 2022, at which time the Gadsden-Etowah County EMA will re-evaluate the current situation.

Family Success Center, Warming Station (during opened hours only)

809 East Broad, Street, Gadsden, AL  35903

Freedom Center, Warming Station (during opened hours only)

1601 West Meighan Blvd., Gadsden, AL 35904   (will extend hours or open as an overnight shelter if other overnight options become full.)

Gadsden Public Library - Warming Station (during opened hours only)

254 College Street, Gadsden, AL 35901 

GPL, East Gadsden Branch, Warming Station (during opened hours only)

802 East Broad Street, Gadsden, AL 35901

GPL, Geology Branch, Warming Station (during opened hours only)

2700 West Meighan Blvd., Gadsden, AL  35904

Salvation Army, Warming Station, Overnight Shelter (opened)

1101 1st Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35901 

IF, this location fills up we will open another location at that time.
