The Gadsden Sports Park is a component of the city’s active projects that strengthens relations between the City of Gadsden and Gadsden State Community College and stimulates economic growth for both Gadsden and Etowah County.
Phase Three of the Gadsden Sports Park is currently under construction, with completion set for Spring of 2024. This phase of the project includes installing concrete around the Champions Field (a facility that is special needs-accessible), adding netting around the baseball fields, and finalizing the irrigation systems.
Phase One began in the winter of 2020 and consisted of reallocating former fisheries into three NCAA multipurpose fields, installing concessions and restrooms, and incorporating a walking trail.
Phase Two, completed in Spring of 2023, saw the redesign of the existing softball and baseball fields and reconstruction of the concessions area.
Phase Four is set to begin soon with clearings for future baseball and softball fields already underway. It will also see the renovation of the existing soccer field. Once completed, the fully renovated sports complex will be an advantageous asset to the City of Gadsden and Etowah County.
Start Construction: January 2021
