With another new month, there is another opportunity to come downtown and enjoy family-friendly fun. On August 2nd, we will be having First Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Broad Street. Many downtown stores will be open late to allow for convenient shopping. Food vendors will line the 400 block of Broad Street serving up delicious treats. Classic cars from all over the state and surrounding states will be lined up along the sidewalks.
There will be live entertainment on every block! Cheryl’s School of Rock on 2nd & Broad, Kevin Moore on 3rd & Broad, Mother May I on 4th & Broad, The Crossbows on 5th & Broad, and Glory and Grace Dance Studio will be performing at the Waterwall Courtyard next to the Pitman Theater.
And if that wasn’t enough of a great time for you, The Summer Concert Series at the Amp’s August show will feature Az-IzZ, a tribute group to Motown, Soul, and Funk. That show will be from 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. at the Mort Glosser Amphitheater. The concert is free and cushions and coolers are welcome.
Broad Street will be closed from 1st Street to 7th Street starting at 4:00 p.m. and will reopen after the event. As a reminder to all, pets are not allowed at First Friday.
